You must not know about the bikefriday Pocket Rocket line.

Haha, that's a road bike? Maybe they can sponsor a pro team!

Or why small wheeled bikes are not allowed to race under UCI regulations...

Not my decision, though I agree with it, regardless of the why. You are correct, I don't know why, but my guess is because that would suck.

At 20.5 pounds and with a full Dura Ace 10 speed group the BF Pocket Rocket is a road bike in the purest sense.

It just has smaller wheels.

And there are always these... the reason small wheeled bicycles are not allowed to compete against standard bicycles.

Unfair advantage.

Having ridden one I can tell you they are every bit as fast as a conventional road bike.

That would have been my second guess.

If you read this thread from the beginning, you'd understand this is temporary.

If I had read this thread from the beginning I would have to shoot myself.

BTW, I voted for you to have your own fragment.

I voted yes for the Hybrid forum. I would still like to see a Internally Geared Hubs forum too though they are a small percentage of total bike sales, at least in the USA. As it is I have two or three that would best fit in the Hybrid forum, one Cruiser based and two drop bar steel road frame based. IGH threads pop up everywhere on this site but most commonly in Bicycle Mechanics it seems like.

As is I started my own IGH bikes Yahoo group which has now grown to 150+ members. Not many compared to Bike Forums but growing continuously and it has a lot of links available for those interested.

I looked & looked for a 3-spd. hub/bike forum. You know what I found. - and other ones from Brook's and Shimano and etc.

I just realized the roadies will have to be a little jealous as far more women will probably post in a hybrid forum...

Exactely. We like Hybrd men, not the insects

Road bikes are racing bikes. Changing the description from a Hemmingway quote to something like "Hey, you ride a road bike, post here." I am referring to the description of the sub-forum. I don't know WHO is going to change that definition, I only know I can't, so I offer that as a suggestion to those who can.

Folding road bike is utter nonsens. Yes I know about the races in London, but, let's get real. Road bike is a race bike. That is what cyclists call racing bikes, road bikes, right? We all ride on the road but we all don't ride road bikes. Sorry if that fact is hard for you to accept. Actually your whole post is utter nonsens. It doesn't deserve a response, but I wrote one, so read it.

So you heard about Bromptons and you heard about London, that is at least something. But then you see, a Brompton s not a road (folding) bike. Maybe stick to the stuff you know at least something about.

What type of bike has the speed record?

I think we have a winner for utter nonsens. That was so funny. :thumb:
I love the way this thread is getting hilarious.

I don't know what type of bike has the speed record. I'd guess fully faired semi-recumbent for the hour record and probably a fully recumbent type for the sprint competition. Are these road bikes?

Sorry, that is the only way I have ever heard the phrase "road bike" used, to describe a road racing bike. I don't think if you asked a Brompton rider what type of bike he rides, he would say road bike.

I'm glad my writing has amused you.

The idea that roadies be allowed their own road bike specific forum seems much less popular than the idea that hybrid riders should have their own hybrid specific forum.

This "Issue"/Drama has been an unintended joke initiated by a handful of self-esteem-deficient-jokers all along.

Mods:
Give 'em their own forum/sandbox to diddle each other, and let the General Cycling Discussion return to normal, Puhleeze!

From what I've seen of the voting and general thread, it seems that there is enough of a market. I'll be opening up a Hybrids Forum and doing some thread moving shortly. We'll try it out. Worst case, we'll have to close it if it doesn't work out. It is worth a try, though. :D I'm going to go ahead and close this thread out now. The trend in the voting is 5:1 for anyway.
