I got this bike for free today and I only know two tihngs about it. One, it's too small for me. It has the same size frame as my Peugeot but eeems smaller somehow. The other thing is that most of the components are badly corroded. The bars/seat/stem/post and calipers are in good shape but the rest are shot. the frame itself looks to be in very nice shape. I can't find any info on this bike. Any one know any thing?

The 400 was an upper entry level model. The one that I had used Tange 900 double butted chromoly steel for the main tubes and a Tange chromoly fork. Around 1986 they painted these black with silver trim, really nice looking bike. IMHO, the best part of a Shogun was the frame, very nice for an entry level bike. Components varied, but I had some OK level Shimano components, nothing to get excited about, but nice enough. That frame is worth salvaging.

Makes an outstanding single speed frame. My Chro-Mo 400 had the awesome warrior headbadge, and with no lugs, once I got it stripped, made a great single speed bike w/flip-flop rear wheel.
