Hello,
I was given a older 12 speed Miele road bike. Can anyone give me an idea of its value? I don't know anything about road bikes - except that Miele is a quality brand.
Here are the details that I can gather:
A sticker on the frame reads "Tange 2 Double-butted tubes". Another reads "CICLI".
'Miele by Ambrosio' Tires
Ole Suntour gears
Sugino VL 130 crank
Mod Europa Superracing handlebars
Campagnolo brake handles
It's a little rusty and needs a new seat.
Thanks everyone,
trelynn

Depends ... to me, it's not worth much .... $100 ??
I'll send this over to the Classic & Vintage appraisal forum... chances are better there.
Need pictures taken from the driveside. Thats where all the action is.
Left in rusty, needs work condition, maybe $50 to $75. Buyers want bikes that are ready to ride. If you can do the work yourself, there will be a nice return on fixing it up. If you have a shop do the work, you probably won't break even on the shop bill. I just sold a bike for $145 that had recently been serviced at a shop for $150. Do that math....
Buyers looking for bikes to fix up are looking for deals! I commonly buy similar project bikes in the $20 to $40 range.

In that condition.....$50. Max. It needs $75 worth of parts and has a value of $175-200 in ready to ride out the door needs nothing condition.

The cat disapproves of the handlebar tilt.
Tange #2 is nice tubes.
No eyelets for racks and stuff.
Make a nice disease ride and century bike.
+1 Jim's estimates: $50 as is, $175 maybe $200 in outstanding ready to ride condition.
+1 Tange 2 is a good frame!
Unfortunately, unless you have ready access to reasonably priced parts and are ready to do all the work yourself, you would be ahead selling it for $50. Probably needs a complete teardown, along with new tires, chain, cables, tubes, bearings and grease. At that point, it would be a pretty nice bike!
