"Armstrong is coming down the straight like a Grand Prix motorcar!"

Of course, I'm very partial to that one!

Although mentioned near the bottom on the linked page of Phil-ism's, I've always been partial to his oft-made comment about crashes: "And the other riders are falling in sympathy!" (Now, I always caution new riders not to make that mistake, but instead to show no sympathy and ride right on over any fallen riders in front of them. Contrary to what many believe, a rider does not have to fall off his/her bike simply because someone else does.)

That said, my personal favorite was spoken directly to me during a conversation with him, Lance, and Paul Sherwen a few years ago: "What's this thing called the internet? What's e-mail?" (I glanced over to see both Lance and Paul looking away and holding back their laughter. :) )

How many times when showing Jan did he say:
"A beast of a man"

....and my favorite....

"These bike riders bodies, racked with pain..."

The Todd Carrier Liggetism's site is excellent. With Paul Sherwin they make an great team. It is a little disappointing when watching a race on the TV, to hear someone else is commentating.

I know it has nothing to do with cycling, but there are a couple of websites with Raymond Chandler (author of Phillip Marlowe private eye novels) quotes, known as "Chandlerisms". Great one liners..not remotely related to cycling, but very good never the less.
