Riding an old Cannondale Mountain Bike upgraded to a hybrid but, looking to buy my first carbon.

Maybe I can get some advice:

I am down to two bikes:

1.) Motobecane Le Champion CF Ltd - $1495
http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/..._cf_ltd_10.htm
(Bicycling Magazine just get this bike a pretty decent review in Sept 09 issue)

2.) Cannondale Synapse Carbon 5 Compact - $1995
http://aroadbike4u.com/itemdetails.cfm?ID=624

It seems the Motobecane has better components while the Cannondale has a better frame? I am leaning Motobecane... because I think I will be getting more bike and saving $500.

I would really like to hear your opinions.

Thom

Thanks for looking at the Moto from us
Both these bikes are nice

Reason I am posting is the comment on frames
The truth is both frames are good; but the Cannondale frame is made in China; whereas the Motobecane frame is made in Taiwan. Cost of the Moto frame is higher and most industry insiders would put the Moto frame as a bit nicer.

If you want lots of responses - you should post in the ROAD Bike section of BF
and lots of people will respond
including many trolls, haters, and assorted people who will tell you to always buy in shops or always buy online -- It will be a more fun post, as you will get lots of responses

BTW, we maybe out of the le Champion CF soon; but the 2010 Immortal Pro and Force are on the way in and the IMMORTAL series uses frames made by the top frame builder in Asia - Advanced Composites - insanely good frame

Have Fun
Mike

Cannondale generally specs a lot of their Coda bits. Not bad, but it's house brand.

Look for ride reviews, since that will tell you more about the frame's performance.
