Road Cycling - Riding in the Wrong Shorts (OUCH!)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I discovered that riding sixty miles on a race saddle on rural roads in tri-shorts is not what I would call a good idea. After finishing my 60 mile ride I discovered that my butt felt as though it had been swatted with a cricket bat about four dozen times.

I am the dope that thought my Pearl tri shorts would be adequate.

I noticed while watching the tour this weekend that the riders are wearing shorts that appear to be super thick and padded.

What are they and where can my sore butt find some?

Hi,
get some cycling shorts. Performance has some nice ones. Their Elite shorts have worked out reasonable well for me. You also need to build the miles up slowly to get used to them.

The Performance Elite shorts are good, but there Ultra short is best.
