Found this on craigslist http://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/1265403005.html. I'm not familiar with GT and especially the triple triangle frame. Is this frame style any good or worth the $200 price tag this guy is offering?

Depends on your market, $200 is kind of pushing it. In spotless, ready to ride condition, $175. If it is spotless, ready to ride, and fits you, a $25 premium over market is a small price to pay to get what you want. It does not look to be spotless in the ad, but the pictures aren't that clear either.

But if you are patient, you will find something better.

$175-ish if its the right size and ready to ride.

I think it is worth the price, it was before they went to TIG welding.

In the 50's or 60's that frame deaign would be often referred to as Hellenic, as Hetchins use it. But so did a number of small French makers earlier.

The frame is unique, but would support a change in value only if the buyer was drawn towards that type. The condition, size, and the rest of the components determine the value of that particular bike more than the triple triangle frame.

Clean, ready to ride, adjusted, I'd have to go with the $175 max offered by others. I'd say $150-$175. I'm about to do a Schwinn LeTour, about the same era, which will be $125-$150 because it's not quite as nice as that.

Thanks for the input guys, If I attempt to pick this up I'll definitely haggle the seller down another $50 (from what it looks like there are some dings on the frame and the seller listed it as only "good" condition).

+1 I do not like sellers that misrepresent their bikes. It may well have been made by GT, but it is not going to have the resale of a GT. I would pass unless the price gets a lot better.

WOW thanks for the help guys, I did a quick image search and sure enough, it was a nashbar. I'm not even going to bother looking into it further.
