Completed another sprint this weekend (1/4 swim, 10 bike, 3.2 run) 1:18 and change.

Swim
Smoked the swim in 7 minutes, felt good as my pool times were in the 8:20's..we had the current with us but I entered the water mid pack and remember passing quite a few guys after the second buoy. I did get pulled twice and had a guy practically swim over the top of me!! He pulled my left shoulder and used it to propel himself past me.

Bike
Anyway...bike was good. This was my first real test being in the aero set up. I think I need to get it adjusted as my elbows were sore after the bike ride. My speed average was 2 mph faster than being non-aero and I was able to suck on a hammer gel and down some water without much effort. Did notice a slight side cramp which worried me but I didnt know if it was my position or not hydrating well.

Run
SUCKED AGAIN! I dont know if it's these race set ups but the first 1/3 mile was run weaving around the beach and through some trails and thick sand...not packed down hard stuff. That really blew my cadence as I tried to get my legs underneath me. Felt okay until mile 2 when they gave us cold towels as by 9:15 in the morning it was probably 90 and humid as hell!! So they gave us these cold towels soaked in ice water...I draped it around my neck and immediately started to cramp up and slow. I had to walk 200 yards and then the rest of the run felt like I was running in concrete blocks.

Regardless, it was a fun day...Dont know when my next race is as I havent committed to anything but a 5k in October.
Couple things I need to work on are the 6 minutes I spent in transition (bike to run I hit the porto-potty to pee and swim to bike I had issues with my socks) and getting better on the run

Congrats on your race. One thing's for sure -- you don't need to worry about the swim.

thanks...its the run that really messes with me. top it all off, I really enjoy running.....by itself.....just need to improve that. I think the next couple months I am going to focus on the run
