Foo - Pirate prank

I played a prank on my Mom today.

She has a garden gnome that sits by the front door of the house. Either by accident or weather, the poor guy lost a hand along the way.

With a little time in my shop, a wine cork, a copper pipe cap and some heavy copper wire, I soldered him a replacement.

If it was a bunny rabbit then you wouldn't need the "strobe" aspect of it. Just a solid light.

Eye patch!

The arm and the hole at the end look almost exactly like the arm of a Lego minifigure. But the hook hand is probably a lot more recognizable to non-dorks than a Lego hand. :P

The peg leg would be going too far I'd think. All of the other "modifications" don't require that the gnome be altered from it's current state. Cutting off a leg, however, might not be viewed as funny by the owner of the gnome.

BTW, it would need to be a parakeet not a parrot because it's a gnome and not a full sized person. Hence, a smaller bird is required.

The way I see it, the gnome was broken anyway. I'll still leave the leg as a last resort...not only for the reason you mentioned, but because it'd be the most work.

I did get an email from Mom last night...with no mention of the Pirate gnome. I'll be leaving tomorrow for four days at Snowmass wrenching for Shimano, but when I'm back I'll work on some more gnome mods. :thumb:
