I am going to be getting a Nitto Albatross handlebar and will be needing brakes for it. I know that it works with general MTB levers. I need a set that will work with canti brakes. I like the set linked below because they are all silver versus the black/silver look of the Tektros. It says they work with flat bars so I am not sure if they would work with the Albatross bars. The LOOK the same as MTB levers and Albatross are flat where the levers are mounted..

Those look nice, would they work with center pull brakes too? I am building a similar setup and like the look of those too.

I think if they work for caliper brakes they will work for center pull but someone might know better than me.

i think that side pull calipers, centerpull, and cantis all have the same pull. It is the inline brakes that require more pull.

Inverse Levers (http://www.velo-orange.com/siinbrle.html)... I love the look of these so much that I'm thinking of building up my 5th bike just so I can put a pair of these on it!

I already have a set of bar-end shifters on this bike. I do like inverse though.

You need levers for 7/8" bars and those Shimanos will work. I have them on two bikes with upright bars.

The inverse levers can be a problem. They will only fit thinwall 7/8" bars.

They should work fine. They won't work (well) with V brakes. I know that you don't like the appearance of the Tektros but it can be very handy down the road to have levers that are easily changed between short pull for canti and long pull for v-brake or whatever the market has.

I totally agree that versatility is a plus but my love of vintage steel and classic styled bikes leads em to believe I will never need something compatible with a V brake.

Well For $15 I figured I would give them a shot. Ordered them up and they are on the way.

These work for both canti's and V-brakes, with an internal adjustment.

I like the look of the Shimano brakes better, but I know these Forte's work.
I've got them on my Albatross. I like this bar enough to buy another one (in chro-moly this time - 2cm wider, lots cheaper). I was lucky enough to find these on cl. Thought they were Dove bars 'til I started emailing Rivendell and asking for Albatross dimensions.

I would buy the Dive bar actually but I am throwing these on a Bridgestone XO and it has bar end shifters that I want to keep. The Dove won't work with bar ends.

I am very anxious to try out the Albatross as I have heard nothing but great things.

Rivendell has the best price that I've seen. And they're very enthusiastic about these bars (and Nitto in general).

Correct.

Just to add some closure, I got them and they work perfect for the bars and also look great. They are really well made for the low price they are sold for. Recommended if anyone is in the market for such a thing.

I didn't like the black parts on the Shimanos, so I repaced them with silver parts from Problem Solvers.
