Advocacy & Safety - USATODAY Article!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Please go there and post a reply in favor of cycling. For the most part they are anticycing comments.

Paco, good find. Its nice to get national exposure like that. Comments are unfortunate though.
Wired also has an article out:

This one is about treating bicycles more like cars (insurance, road tax, etc.) but takes a pretty neutral stance. They call us out on some points, but I think it is positive overall.

Same crap as always. Cyclists shouldn't be on the road because they don't pay taxes, its unsafe, they don't obey laws, they're impeding traffic, they're all arrogant Lance Armstrong wannabes, etc.

Articles like these always seem to attract the most incompetent and insecure cagers for comment. Joe or Jane Average Motorist rarely demonstrates a problem with being competent and secure enough to share the road and pass a cyclist in a reasonably safe manner, and very rarely respond to articles like these.
