hi guys. i've just changed to a new 9 speed hg93 chain yesterday and the chain skipped at certain gears which i reckon was due to the worn cassette. i've some leftover ultegra/dura ace 9 speed road cassette lying around since i've upgraded to 10 speed on my road bike. is it possible to swap the few of the worn middle cogs with the road cogs?

how about i use back the same spacer from the mtb cassette? i've heard of road bikes using mtb cassettes and vice versa. so the width and spacing should be compatible?

Shimano 9-speed spacing for road and mtn. cassettes is exactly the same. The cogs are interchangeable except in those cases where the cogs are riveted to a common carrier and the carrier has the splines. My favorite 9-speed cassette is a 13-26 combination of left-over XTR, Ultegra, and D-A cogs. The larger cogs are from the middle of the XTR. It is a very light cassette. 13-14-15-16-17-[18-20]-[23-26]
All of the cogs and spacers are 9-speed.
