Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I work for a non-profit in Northern Illinois that provides mentors to children of single parent homes. Given the state of the economy, many non-profits and social service agencies are obviously going through some pretty rough times. This is no truer than in Illinois (http://news.google.com/news?q=social+services+illinois+budget&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&ei=gFF4Sqv4BJPQtgO29uXkBA&sa=X&oi=news_group&ct=title&resnum=1).

We have been weathering the storm but as more and more agencies cut funding they are able to serve fewer and fewer people. As it was, there were hundreds of kids in the area that we simply cannot serve because of budget constraints and the recent events only make this worse.

We are a very go-get-em agency and have attempted to raise funds in a few ways. One of them is a $10,000 raffle. Our goal is to only sell 4,000 tickets which are better odds than the lotto ;)

You can purchase the tickets online. They are reasonably priced. If you are interested, please send me a private message here (http://www.bikeforums.net/private.php?do=newpm&u=30545) and I can steer you in the right direction.

By the way, you don't have to live in Illinois to be eligible.
