Don't yell at me, I read the other posts about squeeky brakes and they're all about V-Brakes. I have Hayes HFX 9 Disc brakes and my 6" rotor in the back squeeks when i don't apply a lot of pressure. The front doesn't do this but its a high pitched squeek when I lightly press on the brake lever. They are brand new brakes so they can't be 'old' Maybe is it because they got dirty on a ride.

Clean the pads and rotors (alcohol works good for this), and be sure that the pads are in the holders all the way. Also be sure they are hitting the disc squarely and not rubbing when you are not using the brakes.
