'72 all-chrome P13. In parts, but all there minus spokes. Tubular Mavic rims. Reginia freewheel still on the HF rear Campag Record hub, which means its a hammer drill job to get it off. Otherwise, pretty nice.

$550. Delivered.

Go for it?

That the one they took off ebay? 24 inch frame. I would have paid $550.

I bought my last chrome frame as a package deal at a bike swap. When I sold off the other part of the package, my net cost for the frame was about $380

Yes.

For hubs with freewheels still mounted, I temporarily loosely lace a rim to the hub to get the leverage to get it off. You can get away with lacing only half the spokes.

That's the one. He took it down as he was not familiar with doing the frame measurements accurately (and the CR folk were starting to give him a hard time because of it). I've seen this bike in person - turns out its the one that was at Business Cycles two weeks after I got my '70. 61cm, but built for 700C's, unlike my '70, which is also 61cm, but built for 27"s, and essentially the same geometry of the later P15.

He says he'd let it go at that price as I'm local, and it would save him shipping it (of which he mentioned he has no specific experience; I was offering suggestions of foam insulation padding over the phone).

P.S.: You know darn well that I don't really need to ask this question in the first place ;)

The cost of a divorce would far outweigh the value of the bike. No way I could sneak in a second chrome Paramount....

But you see, I have the advantage of not being married. :D

In that case, go for it! Sounds like a reasonable price for a pretty good bike.

I'm married and have a garage full of Paramounts. Mrs. K is very understanding* about such things, and has enjoyed her chrome Paramount. One of these days I will do a thread about it.

*She also knows that I could either have more expensive habits or be doing things way worse than collecting bikes.
