My frame calls for a 450mm axle to crown distance when using a rigid fork. Who or where might I be able to find one? Most suspension corrected forks out there.... Kona, Kelly, Tange, Kinesis, Interloc, etc... are all about 410mm to 425mm long. Am I missing something something here or can I use any of these rigid forks on my frame? The last thing I want to do is to alter my frame geometry drastically by using a too short of a fork. Thanks.

About 10 or 20 mm. shouldn't matter too incredibly much. You could also custom order a Strong Rigid for about $499 US. It's a lot, but they are forks of legend. http://www.strongframes.com/pricing/mtb/ It's toward the bottom of that list somewhere. :)

Try the Surly Instigator (http://www.surlybikes.com/forks/Instigator_pop.html). It's meant for frames that were designed around 100mm travel suspension forks and has a 447mm axle-to-crown measurement.

Thanks Endo, but I'm gonna have to pass on that $500 rigid fork.

Khuon....I forgot about the Surlys. I'd try the Instigator if it didn't come with the disc tab. Maybe I can simply cut/grind it off.

I was wrong it's only $400! :p
Anyway, I think the Surly is supposed to be good too.

The surly folks seem pretty cool. Maybe you could try calling them up and special-ordering an Instigator without disc-tabs.
