Recently i purchased a used Schwinn Duo sport from the 80's. i have some mechanical ability and have been repairing it as needed.

The timing chain adjustment has been left for last as i don't know how to service it and there seems to be no info on the net for this old bike. i am able to service a bottom bracket and have the proper tools to do so or get them as needed.

Anyone have any idea on how to adjust the timing chain for this bike?

To our recollection the front BB is mounted into an eccentric.
Should be a couple bolts/allen fittings to loosen eccentric. Then rotate the BB in the eccentric to tighten chain. Don't make the chain overly tight, there whould be a bit of play in it.
Also the DuoSport we test rode for the company (it was a prototype) had a less than perfect eccentric/shell.
Yipes, that was a long time ago!

Yesterday, i peeked into the bottom bracket and not much grease on the stoker; was able to grease the stoker bearings. Thankfully this probably was more of a wall hanger tandem and the spindle looked ok. The bearings are built into the cups, so parts are probably non existant?

Could not take the front bottom bracket apart completely, so the eccentric is still unknown. The tools needed to disassemble the thing look unusual; i will need some giant wrenches i think. My local LBS does not want to touch the thing.
