It is in great shape with lots of extras. Picked up for $30 at a church yard sale. Only problem is it wont shift. Not sure if its a der or shifter problem. Will only stay in 1 gear. My question is if anyone knows a nice bike shop in the San Jose CA area....that does some good work and is friendly with bringing in a bike i didnt purchase there? Also if someone might be able to tell me the solution that would be nice also and maybe an estimate on how much it will cost to fix:) thanks so much

Virtually any LBS will be glad to work on bikes not bought from their store.

Might run into the oddball shop that doesn't work on lower end bikes, but your best bet is to just walk in and say hi.

Do the shift levers move at all? Likely you'll need to replace the shift cables and housings. But maybe not.

What is the condition of the chain? Rusty? Dry? Greasy?

As far as price, I couldn't say. I agree with Enigmagic. Take it to you local bike shop and say hi.
