Reminds me of the joke about the hot blonde twins in for a photo shoot.

The photographer gets them all posed and then goes to his camera and begins to adjust the lens.

One blonde looks at the other and asks "What is he doing?"

The other responds "Oh, he is just getting ready to focus?"

The first blonde looks a bit surprised and asks "Both us?"

Focus's are garbage. Even if I had a Forcus Cosworth, I probably still wouldn't want to admit it.

I rented a Focus while in Hawaii for a few days. Wasn't bad and the materials had somewhat of a quality feel. Rented a Chevy Cobalt the following week in San Diego and made the Focus feel like a Lexus.

I got a Focus as a loaner car while my Freestyle was in the shop. It was nice but just a bit confining for my 6' tall, 240 lb. frame. I will agree though that it had nice fit and finish and was very well appointed.

I drove a diesel Focus in england last winter (RHD manual :)) and it seemed fine to me. More power would have been nice though.

One summer I drove cars off of trains full of Ford/Merc and Nissan/Infinity. I forget the exact year, but it was the first year of the new t-birds.

The hotrod Focus hatches were FUN! 6-speed tranny, tight suspension and a total blast to drive. (EDIT: SVT, that's what they called the hotrod ones)

I wish I had a cam that summer, I'd share pics galore.

Did you get your new copy of "Parts Pups?"

I get them from time to time for rentals. They're quite nimble and the e-brake works well. Never but a used cat that was a rental by the way.

No. Or a dealership loaner.

I like the Focus hatches. Handle well and decent power.

The hatches are fun. I always get the European equivalent (Fiesta) with a 5spd stick when working over there. Those are a blast. I wish you could get stick shifts in America rental cars.

Wow, that is really obscure or I am more stupidery than usual today. Elucidation required.

Yeah, stick shifts are somewhat nonexistent in NA lately.

On a somewhat related note, the first time I ever spun a car with the handbrake was a Focus dealership loaner:D

Jeez, no actual pics of a Focus? Here's a pic of mine.

Really obscure I guess 'cause it escapes Google too.

Put out by NAPA they provide "Pin-up" calendars and a quarterly joke book to auto-part stores. Been around for 60+ years.
The jokes are closer to 80.
Pop has had a subscription longer than I've been around.

And you get extra points for it being out-of-focus!!! ;)

The car's in focus. It's my finger that's out of focus. And that was on purpose. It's an artistic statement.

Mix one part irony and 20 parts chaos and what do you suppose you'll end up with?

Welcome to foo.

I spent a couple days on a Trek 1000 in the late 80s, and it wasn't very enjoyable. Similarly priced Cannondale from back then wasn't any better, though.

I think that's why I still avoid aluminum like the plague.

I rode a very early bonded Aluminum Trek 1000. I loved that bike like a brother. Rode is from 88 until 05, then I STUPIDLY traded it it for $100 in credit towards a new Trek 1200. Should have kept it upgraded as I had the time and money. I am however over 200 lb and I think that my weight makes the bike feel different. I could see how a lighter rider would find the ride harsh. I found it taut and responsive.

BTW, I have never traded my actual brother in on anything.
