My wife and I are recreational bikers who prefer "Rails to Trails" type paths. We're going to do some biking July 23-26 and wonder what's available in Southern Ontario. Any suggestions would be helpful!

There is a great bike path from Niagara falls to Niagara on the Lake. The hill on the escarpment might be a struggle on the way back. The path passes by the School of Horticulture with their wonderful gardens. There is lots of nice stuff to see at Niagara on the Lake and wineries to visit.

Check here (http://www.gbnrtc.org/downloads.htm#Maps) as well, latest Rails to trails maps, including the Erie / Ontario area on the Canadian side.

Welcome fellow WNY'ers. I'm relatively new to this forum too. I do a most of my riding along the Niagara River Walk and the Ellicott Creek Trailways. Occasionally I'll hit the roads out to Akron or through Pendleton. I'm going to look in joining a bicycle club to expand my riding area. I usually solo, last week I went on my first group ride. It was a great time. Maybe I'll see you somewhere along the way.

Once again Welcome!

Hey Str8shooter.
Here are some bike clubs for you to look at.
I'm sure there are more but these are ones I know about.

Big Wheels Bike Club (http://www.bwbc.bfn.org/)
Buffalo Bicycling Club (http://www.buffalobicycling.com/)
Buffalo.com links (http://www.buffalo.com/Recreation/Cycling_101.asp)
Niagara Frontier Bike Club (http://www.nfbc.com/)

Each Club has it's own style.
