Round two of the Hotter-N-Hell populaire series is this Sunday,
8/9/09.
08:00 am rolling time.
Start/finish is in Celina TX (due east of Pilot Point, due north of
Frisco).

We had a great turnout and fun ride this past Sunday in Princeton with
some new faces, and more new faces on the slate for this Sunday.
Please RSVP to me for head count purposes on the paperwork.
NO membership requirements for a populaire! Bring a friend!

The route is "Bobcat Bite," a wonderful route from Steve Petty on some
minimal traffic backroads. It is a loop from Celina to Howe,
Dorchester, Tioga, and back to Celina.

Park in Celina downtown square area (square includes Louisiana Dr.,
Pecan St., Ohio Dr., and Walnut St.)

And next Sunday 8/16/09 is the Marko Polo century, 106 mile route (170
km), start/finish in Plano.

Please email with any questions, Sharon Stevens smst199 at yahoo.com
See y'all there!

There's an awesome hamburger restaurant in Santa Fe, NM, called Bobcat Bites.

Sounds like a nice ride, too...

to all the rest of you goons - this is a really cool ride, and the Randonneurs are the coolest riders Ive been priviledged to be dropped by - lots of RAAM qualifiers and competitors in this group, and if I say so myself, a few record-holders. It's gonna be a blast!

oh man what a cool ride it was today. Enjoyed the heck out of it. Randonneuring isn't about hammering but it's nice to blow the dust off from time to time!

Yeah, it was a great ride! I ran out of gas at the end. Should have eaten something out at Tioga. It took me about 5 1/2 hours but I finished. Robin and Val helped out alot.

Comfy! I took a nap from mile 25 or so to mile 40. ;^)

It was nice. Greg and Bryan and I rode together for the whole thing. I got off after 70 miles with no pain in the hands or butt, and a lot less foot numbness from the chipseal at the end.

The muscles are a little different, so I'm kinda tight today. Trying to get the lights set up on it now for commuting. Gonna try to get as many recumbent miles in as I can before the time trials.

Glad you had a good time, E. Randonneuring with this bunch is so dang fun. Wait until you're with a big group for 200k. This group eats at every control like it's their last meal anyway. We had pizza and clif bars at the tioga control, but we had the benefit of knowing the last stretch was the worst.
