Advocacy & Safety - Do you enjoy Don Q threads or just survive them?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Some people like to ride bulls for fun, others like to ride bikes.

Do you count yourself among the bull and bike riders who enjoy a whimsical read, :) or among those who wished they could keep themselves far away from the bull? :p

It's rather hard to avoid the bull, sorry bulls.

I'll admit to being amused once in a while, even if the majority of the debate is "noise"

P.S. you should have made this a poll that only allows one conclusion to be drawn... ;)

You need to add a Poll to this thread.

I've watched Man of LaMancha play once, so I can see the whimisical characteristics in the poster here known as Don Quixote. So in that light, I think this member is that of a village clown. One can always just ignore his threads.

You can ignore me, but not disagree with me. If you read me, you agree. If you don't, what the heck are you reading more interesting than monkeys and bananas?

I mean the monkeys (read cyclists) are victim of discrimination, and the lions (read SUVs) are terrorizing them... What better solution than to make the Hungry Lion eat the banana?

I bet not even Animal Planet got such drama!

Victim my arse. In the mornings, riding to work rather than driving, I'm most definitely the winner :)

I enjoy DonQ.

I also think that threads regarding specific members are against forum guidelines.

Edit: But whatever. I don't sense any mean spiritedness in this thread (well, so far anyway).

This thread was made in fun, and no disrespect to Don Q was ever intended. Actually, I figured if anything he would appreciate the attention. I truly admire the way Don manages to inject some levity and fun into a sometimes much too serious forum like A&S, and always find his topics at least mildly entertaining. The fact that he never seems to get discouraged no matter the response is a testament to his confidence. Now let's all grab a banana and tame some lions! :thumb:

Don Quixote reads like John Bunyan without the spiritous overlay.

allegorical and entertaining. his last poll was quite straightforward, actually.

ou know, there's people who ride a bull and enjoy it, and there are cyclists out there (messengers and other daredevils) who I'm sure "enjoy" riding in danger. But for many of us, mundane cyclists if you will, the bully behind the wheel is to be feared and we simply "survive" the ride and are happy to be alive at the point of destination.

Do you count yourself among the bull riders, or among those who wished we could keep the bully far away?
