Bring on the bengay and corners.

...and you don't find too many 35+ plus races. I'm still looking to find the 45+ cat 4/5. Actually, I'm looking for the out-don't-care-what-age-but-must-be-slower-than-RJBTrek category.

Good luck to those that made the cutoff!!

Old/Fat/Slow (Over 35, Cat 4/5) is at 3:30.

Slow/Kinda quick (Cats 3 and 4) is at 5:10.

There's also a twilight ProAm at 7:10 that will be a good race to watch as well.

Yeah, We usually have a spot where we congregate so to speak. We are leaving the house around 12:30 and heading over. Watching the Schwa at 2:00. I will be warming up near the course so I can watch and cheer. I race at 3:30 with the old fat guys. Then we're sticking around to watch everything else that we can (depending on little P).

aham...bring the crew out with you - it's usually fun for everyone and we have a few kids running around and playing.

Neenah:

Andy Crater took the Pro 1/2 in style. Heavy Wheel and Sprocket as well as IS Corp presence. Frunkin stole a prime in the 3's, Recursive had the position in the final turn, right on his target's wheel, but didn't have the legs to come around him so takes second place in the Wisconsin Cup for the season. BRAVO!! Dave 342 did his two races finishing in the pack. Wiswell did a nice job announcing (I lost track of him in his race). Small race, but a good time.

On the way home I drove the Race Around the Lake Route. This race is COOL! Took pix of the key points. Will post shortly.

You did fine man. They crack a ton of hard eggs in that race.

I pulled a 16th after grabbing my brakes in the final sprint to go around a fallen teammate who ended up in the hospital with a dislocated shoulder. I could have done better - it was a pretty slow race comparatively.

In the 3/4 with TQ the pace car was having to gun it out of the corners just to stay in front of the group. They were hauling.

But I wasn't, because of the phantom cramp that seems to sneak up on me every couple of races. My race results show it clearly...

Did he have a mechanical? He was in a great position and didn't seem to be near anyone, but in my photos he has his head down and is looking at his gears in one frame and is then sliding across the tarmac in the next.

Another teammate was taking pictures and we went frame by frame and saw him make contact with another rider we know (team rhymes with "Win Rockers"). Don't know which way the contact went - from whom to whom, and won't ever know.

I think he may have contacted a couple of guys and went down when his front wheel was "taken" out.

I saw him in time to hit the brakes. I lost a couple of spots because of it, but it freaked me out because we're not a big team and that was one of our jerseys.

Just curious because from the way his head was down and hands were on the hoods all the way up the homestretch, I figured his chain broke or something, not unusual in the sprint. Hope he heals up quickly.

Craig from Vision Quest made a nice maneuver to dodge the incident. Skillz!

He won the Cat 3 National Championship in his 3rd Cat 3 race. I like that a lot. Granted the title of the race may be a little more impressive than reality, it's still pretty freaking awesome.

I'm guessing it's an equipment issue. Maybe chain skipped/got tangled up in some way? Something similar happened me when I was in my 39*11 by mistake. Hope he's healing up ok.

Joel is such a darn sandbagger! At the Tuesday nighters I was chatting with him and asked him how the races went and he mentioned that he didn't have the legs tonight and he's afraid and nervous for the Downers Grove race. I guess he found his race legs when it mattered :D

He should be a cat2 soon?

Joel didn't win that race. He wrecked it. Like, by car lengths. He is a freak.

As for the accident yesterday, I was in the med tent for a brief moment returning his computer and helmet. He made no mention of any mechanical.

I think it was a racing deal.

Also, I can't pass this opportunity to brag about the team a little bit...

With this win we've now won a race this year in every race category, including an open cat 40+ race. We've had 4 different cat 5 winners. For a smallish team that had no regular 4/5 racers last season, I think we've put ourselves on the map.

Edit: forgot to include that we've got a guy who is leading the Illinois Cup for masters 4/5 and may have already clinched it.
