I don't think it's possible to pick just one favorite 70's song. But I can pick my favorite 70's music video.

Are you kidding me? The Allman Brothers Band ROCKED the 1970's. Check out their "Live at the Fillmore East" CD for an amazing performance.

The 70's were rich with excellent music, maybe the best decade of the century for music.

I agree with all of this. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed from the Live at the FE is arguably the best jam ever done in the 70s. Even better than Whipping Post, IMO. Speaking of the ABs, how about Eat a Peach (the most ironically, sardonically named album ever)? The whole album, but especially Melissa and Blue Sky.

I quickly concurred with the Pink Floyd song as "Wish You Were Here" is one of my favorite all-time songs anytime, ever!!!
However, The Allman Brothers are one of my favorite bands all-time ever (I guess PF is too, but anyway...). Duane Allman is my FAVORITE guitarist.....love that slide guitar style. I think Allman Brothers were the best "jam band" of all time. Ever hear the 27 or so minute version of "Mountain Jam"? Wow......I'll bet it was fun to be there.
I love Allman Brother's instrumental stuff, especially.

I don't wanna forget the streak. I LOVE Ray Stevens. Comic Genius!
One highlight of my life was when a stripper in Portland danced to it. So refreshing after a buncha NIN, bad hiphop, etc.

I'm amazed there's still no Led Zeppelin appearances on the thread.
How's about some Steely Dan...Aja was released in 1977, still gets lots of play time on my CD player.
Deacon Blues anyone?

Watched an episode of American Masters last night with Neil Young. So many choices of great songs of the 70's. May well be "Old Man"
