Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Early 1990s Merckx Corsa Extra

Any opinions as to the value of an early 1990s new old stock Merckx Corsa Extra frameset?
Just frame and fork in immaculate shape, not in team colors but in a great fiery red color.
What would you be willing to pay for one? Is $1,000 too much?

$1,000 sounds a bit high, in my opinion. I was able to find an early 90's NOS MX Leader for under $900 - but it was a needle in a haystack!

I checked complete ebay listings and frameset prices vary from $350-ish for well used examples to $1400 for a NOS frameset. A very nice low mile example failed to sell with a 'buy now' of $750.

Original GitaUSA tag still on the frame. I am very excited! The date code on the bb shell denotes either a 1990 or 1991.

I think I am going to build it up with a mix of early 2000s Campagnolo Chorus 10speed Ergo stuff. All alloy before Chorus went over to carbon. I want modern components while keeping a very classic look. Maybe throw a San Marco Regal on there. I have already found some absolutely great deals. I guess its not new enough to be cool and not old enough to be cool yet.

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone! Its only been a couple weeks since I got the frame, but have made great progess in the build. I have been finding some amazing deals on Chorus components from a few years back.
