I have a Schwinn Traveler frame with Shimano Exage down-tube indexed shift levers. Would like to move the derailleurs, cranks and shift levers to an early 80s Peugeot that had the usual friction system with clamp-on hardware. My question: Can I move the shift levers to the Peugeot? How do I remove the lever bases from the Traveler and install on the Peugeot? Hopefully sawing and brazing is not involved.
