If I'm driving to the Anacortes ferry dock and leaving the car is there a parking lot before you go through the ticket booth or do I have to sit in line and wait so I can park then take my bike on the ferry? I haven't been up there in years so I have forgotten how that works.
Last time I did this, roughly two years ago, there were a number of long-term parking lots on the road parallelling the waterfront. They are pay to park, but parking was cheaper than putting a car on the ferry. Simple matter of walking the bike through pedestrian ticketing and walking on to the ferry. Bike racks were toward the front of the boat, if I remember properly. Much simpler procedure than taking a car on the ferry.

There's a long-term parking lot on top of the hill above (south and west of) the ferry dock. You don't have to wait in line to get there. I think there are signs that make it pretty obvious.
Zoom in on the satellite view with google maps and it's really obvious where the parking is.
When you get to the last stop light, head left. Take a a left again after two small hills. There is a development and a marina with lots of free parking. Probably about 1 mile from the terminal total, so it's ideal for bikers.
