You left your lights on. You might want to turn them off before your batter goes dead. Just sayin..
(glad you're ok, sorry about the camera gear. Personally, I'd rather lose a family pet, than my Nikon. you will give your gear a proper burial, won't you?)

Modern cars are toast after being submerged, right?
Are you now taking up kayaking to complement the cycling?
Does Yakima make a drive on roof rack for kayaks?:innocent:

:roflmao2::roflmao2:
The big question is why are they on? The roads will probably and closed and not going to be able to drive very far. :)
I'm glad you have a sense of humor about this whole thing. I'd be crying!

I have good insurance and I expect they'll give me blue book value so that will be cool.
Ya it felt like my poor car turned its lights as if it was begging me to save it :(

Oh.... suckage.
"damprid" hee hee
I'm glad the insurance company is offering some decent value for it. Most cars made today, if the ECM gets submerged, the vehicle gets written off, and the title is noted with flood damage. Even if the ECM is replaced, there will always be problems with the electrical system due to corrosion, and the problems will be usually the worst -- intermittent crap caused by an impossible to find corroded solder joint that connects and disconnects.
The worst thing is the smell. Even an older car that gets flooded out and cleaned up will always have that dank odor in it.

Incredible! So is the photography gear completely shot? No way to salvage the lenses or body with a thorough drying, cleaning and relube?

I would have to believe that it is completey fuxored.
be glad it wasn't your house...I've had 2 feet of salt water in our house during 2004 Hurricane Francis, house was completely totalled, sold for the lot property and demolished.

They towed off my car today, Hopefully I'll hear what my cars is worth before the end of the week.
A Audi S4 would be nice :)

I also saw a yellow S4 at a car lot. Must be fate, its not that common a car to find.

I find it amazing that the electrical system would still work after submerging the car. Also, I would have thought that getting water on halogen bulbs would make them explode...
