Hi,
yes there are a lot of official camping places along the coast in Turkey and Greece. In Turkey there are lot of picnic sites along the road. Mostly with water access and public toilet (what do want more?)

As far as the money thing goes. You might talk to the folks from downtheroad.org They seem to have the finances down.

I would head inland in Turkey. Anywhere along the coast tends to be built up and touristy with the associated prices. Free camping and cheaper motels/meals get much easier to come by once you go inland.

Cappadocia is great! Weather is pretty hot though I would think at this time of year. Where are you headed to next? And inland is cheaper probably because there are less touristy areas than the coast.

Cycle south to Tarsus and head east down the Med. coast through Jordan, Syria and Egypt. It's a very nice ride and the people are incredibly friendly.
