Training & Nutrition - time off at the end of the season?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

How much time do you normally take away form the bike after the season
I've been racing since April and our race season here is done in September.. then cyclocross starts up and has a short season.. which I'm' gonna so on my old school rigid mtb for the exercise
but after that not sure if i solitude take a week or 2 or a whole month away form training before starting base again

I had about 6 months of winter/very little riding last year. Not a good idea at all. A month isn't bad at all if you start back on base training IMO.

thanks
I forget when Cross season wraps up here but after that I plan to take some time off probably 2-3 weeks.. maybe a whole month
I'll remain active just will not be biking frequently
my goal is to add 10-15% more time in the saddle the next year.... I think 10% is what is recommended though
hoping to remain injury free during my base and start up in April with some solid base to build on
