Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but if it isn't, (administrators) please feel free to move it. Anyway, I'm hankering for a new bicycle but can't spend very much at all. The last one I had was a Magna Fugitive (okay, guys, you can laugh but it's been with me for 7 years, to 3 countries, and took me through the biggest flood in Bangladesh in a decade). I was considering one of the Micargi bicycles since they were cheap and had disc brakes, but remarks from this forum have persuaded me otherwise.
So, I found a few deals on used bicycles on craigslist and was wondering which would be better: a ~1997 Specialized Hard Rock, an unspecified Giant mountain bike, an unspecified Klein mountain bike, or a Mongoose MGX. They were all around $100. Then, there's an entry-level Trek at my LBS for about $200, and I saw a Vitus road bicycle with aero bars listed around my campus for about $275. I'm not sure if they are all still available, but I was wondering if you guys could order them from best to worst or give me suggestions, etc.
