Southern California - Coyote Creek MUP/La Mirada?

I saw this mentioned in another post, but searching on Bikely and elsewhere fails to turn up a good map.

Are the gates locked/unlocked in some predictable fashion?

Are there other access points further south? If you have experience riding this path, where is the best access (best in terms of parking safely)?

Coyote Creek entry is actually west of where your map points. It's between Marquardt and Carmenita on Foster Rd; west side of river. This is the north end of the trail.

I usually park at Cerritos Regional Park, Bloomfield and Del Amo and head north, then turn around and go south to Seal Beach. This entry may be too far south for you. Parking is safe and there are bathrooms. You can easily see your car from the trail. The lot is lighted at night.

Yes, that is the parking lot, enter the park on Bloomfield.
Yes, the trail crosses over at Lincoln.
The trail is pretty industrial at the north end. There's a lot of concrete to look at. The Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet is just north of the 5, right off the trail.

I've ridden a bit farther north than the SFS Swap Meet, and found it just a bit creepy. Can't explain it; just do.

If you're headed south on CCT, you can cross over at Lincoln/Carson or at Centennial.

You can enter Cerritos Regional from Bloomfield (Cerritos Sports Complex) or 195th. There is no direct access to the trail from the park, but there is an entry point where 195th and Studebaker meet (and depending upon which way you're going, 195th turns into Studebaker or Studebaker turns into 195th). You can also get to it from a sidewalk that goes up to Del Amo from the gardeners' shed behind (east of) the Target store. Up the walk to the Del Amo sidewalk and then over to the trail.

195th dead ends at Liberty Park (also in Cerritos), which is right on the SGRT, with 3 access points to SGRT. Across Del Amo from Liberty is Lakewood's Rynerson Park, with one access point to SGRT.
