Hi Norcal BF people,
I'll be in Sunnyvale(1300 Chesapeake Terrace Sunnyvale, CA 94089) for a week in SEPT and would like to know a few things.
1. Good rides after 5pm that begin near the above address.
2. Place to rent a decent bike.
Thanks for your kind help.

Sunnyvale is a pretty boring place, but it is not far from Cupertino and Los Altos Hills, where you can find better cycling roads.

Bike Connection in Palo Alto (near Stanford) does weekly bike rentals. I'm not familiar with the shops closer to Sunnyvale. http://bikeconnection.net/page.cfm?pageID=66

Check out bikecal.com for some scheduled rides.

Go to http://www.bikeconcierge.com/ or http://www.frontofthepack.com for rentals.

Should be gorgeous for some rides

Thanks. Looks like Bike Connection is the call. I should have mentioned I'm looking for a city bike just to reach markets and eateries.
