I bought some of these to use on my detatchable bikes. Iam planing to use this one

http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Unbranded-Gear-Cable-Stop--Chainstay-Fitting--Chrome-18470.htm

on the chainstay, at least til I found the right spot for it. Then I might have it brazed on and cut off the screw area or just have a normal braze on fitted at the right point.

Also a cablestop brazed on under the top tube of the bike. Want to use it on a IGH bike.

Since it is called a connector for bare innerwire I take it this thing need the braze ons to hold the housing and this one is connected to the bare wire.

Still it would be sooo much easyer if I could let the housing stop and start directly from the ends of this piece. What do you think? Ewer used one or seen one in use? Know about a similar one that can be used with the housing starting/stopping at the ends?

Hope for input, want to do ths soon and after getting the setup perfect I want a proper paintjobs on both bikes so I can build them back up again and ready for next spring (or before).

I have used the later version to fit dual drive on two mezzos, and a space genie. I think you have seen those pictures. Good idea to braze it. Might look in to that, as the chain clearance is tight, and occasionally the clamp has come loose.

I've got one from Davinci on our tandem for the drag brake. Usually, the cable housing stop is slotted. When the cables are separated, the cable pulls through the slot and the cable and housing are free. The bolt on housing stop that you show is not slotted and you would have to remove the connector from the cable to fully separate.

here is the connector I have:

Actually did not thnk about this and for me it is a good thing. I do not want the cablehousing danngeling around when seperated. Maybe I`ll butcher one more and braze it on the top tube instead of a normal cable stop braze on. The way I am mounting it I do not need to disconnect the connector. I\ll try to get some pix up soon.

From the pix in your lnk I can see that they are exactely the same as the ones I bought, just a different look.

If it is exactely the same it is chromed, so that must be remowed before brazing it. Anybody know how to get the stuff off?

Could you direct me to the pix of the mezo`s? Think I need to look again.

I hope to put it on top of the chainstay to stop it from sticking out.

Still, since this is IGH`S they`ve got the housing all the way so I`d like to be able to do it without the braze ons.
