Hello all, My name is Tony and I live in Elgin Illinois.

I just found this forum and also recently purchased my first road bike. I'm having a lot of fun and hope to meet some of you for future group rides. I'd like to commute eventually but for now weekend rides are all that i'm able to do.

Try the Great Lakes region threads. There are a number of people from the Elgin and Fox Valley area. If you like riding trails, the Fox River trail will take you north or south from Elgin, north into McHenry County, south to Aurora and past. Welcome! A lot of the local bike shops have group rides of varying abilities, too.

Thanks for the welcome. I ended up with a Bianchi C2C 928 Carbon with 105 components. I'm really happy with it.
