Nice - Quebec and Montreal in September 2010.

"All ProTour teams are obliged to send a seven-rider team to the races and there will be the addition of four wild card spots available."

Edit: oops - wanted that title to say ProTour races in Canada next year.

Not a Problem

There used to be a World Cup race in Montreal.

European based teams complained that it was too expensive to ship riders and equipment to NA for 1 race. This helped other races in Toronto and the US Eastern seaboard develop.

Once the World Cup race was no longer held these other races suffered as well.

The only way to keep a ProTour event in NA is to build up a few other races that are prize rich (or have decent appearance fees) to make the trip worth while.

Agreed. I think the Tour of California and the possibility of a stage race in Colorado help. And, hate or love him, Lance is helping publicize other races like the Leadville one. You get enough well-publicized ones together and people will come.
