Unfortunately, it had to be cut short, as crazylady fell last night in the dark and inflamed her sore shoulder. :( We went to the Dunes, up in NOrthern Indiana.

OK the Campground.......

I don't recomend the Dunewood Campground the National Park Service runs. It's NOISY! Every hour, on the hour, all night, the South Shore Commuter Train rolls through and sets off the loudest train horn I've ever heard. Also, the Harley Riders seem to love to wrap out their Harleys with open pipes on US 12. Nothing like it!

As to the facilities, themselves? They are actually nice! The showers are great. THere's a nice breeze, and the mosquitoes aren't bad.

From the beach in Beverly Shores, there's a great view of Chicago across the lake. Bear in mind this is a view from about 40 miles across the lake.

You should have taken the kayaks, you could have rowed to Chicago for lunch.

Thanks for sharing.

Chicago looks a lot more calm from 40 miles away! Looks like a nice place to camp.
