Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. does anyone know of a company that makes a folding beach cruiser? i'm aware of some folding comfort bikes out there, but i'm looking for a maker of folding single speed cruisers... i have no idea if this is even possible?

The Dahon Cadenza Solo is a bit sportier than a cruiser. My 8spd version handles really well and you have plenty of handlebar height adjustment for a laid back position if you want.

I use my Dahon Boardwalk as a beach cruiser. Works fine for that purpose.

My Dahon S1 would make a great beach cruiser and 'market bike'. (At the beach you really use cruisers for both.) Currently, it sits here in Vancouver, WA, and I am using an Electra Cruiser 1 for that purpose at the beach in So. CA.
My Dahon is more comfortable and likely quicker...and...it has a front hand brake besides the rear coaster brake.
The Electra, with it's elongated frame and mat black color is sort of the ultimate 'bad boy' cruiser. It's equipped with a basket for my daily trips to the local market or to buy a newspaper. However, the pedal forward design is hard on my 66 yr old knees, which my Dahon and Friday are not.
In addition, the Electra is a monster to both store in the garage and to maneuver on the crowded bike paths at the beach. Ultimately, I think I'd like a BF Llama (or Expedition) with 2.125" tires would be better. I wouldn't look as cool, though...:)

The Bazooka "Beach 3" has a 3 speed internal hub:

It may seem a bit pricey but Bazookas do have a reputation for high quality.

The Beach 3 looks like an acceptable Beach Cruiser.
Just noticed two "negatives": Frame is a shown as a rather small 16", and rather narrow 1.65" tires. Cruisers usually have 2.1" 0r 2.2" tires and 16" to 19" frames.
Also, you will pay about a $150-$200 penalty for its ability to fold.
