I got my evil srs in yesterday and tried mounting it today. The bike is a 2003 Stinky without ISCG mounts so i had to use the adapter. The problem is no matter how I mount the guide, the guide is pushed out so far that my cranks will always rub on some part of the guide. I cut a piece off the guide where it was rubbing, and when i put the crank back on, it just rubbed again beneath where i cut, so now the chainring bolts were rubbing on the main metal guide piece. The adapter pushes the guide too far out off the frame for the cranks to go back onto the BB. Like with normal ISCG mounts, the guide would be far away from the bottom bracket, but the adapter just makes a huge problem and makes it so the guide will not mount. I read the directions 5 times, tried remounting it more than 5 times, and spent 4 hours trying to get this guide on and it would not work. has anyone else had trouble mounting the guide on a bike using the ISCG adapter. im gonna bring it to the shop tomorrow to see if they can help me out too.

What kind of BB do you have right now? You may need to space it ( threading it in more so the driveside sticks out further). If this does not work you'll need a new BB with a longer spindle length. If you don't know what size you have now pull it out and measure it.

If it is a Truvativ you'll probably be ok just moving it over by threading it in more so the driveside sticks out further.

yeah i fixed the problem today, it was my fault. I put too many washers in between the adapter and guide. i got so upset yesterday all because i forgot that the crank bolt pulls the crank towards the frame more. so now the guide works, but the chain rubs the guide when in certain gears. im assuming this is normal due to the angles that the chain is at when in 1 or 9

Yes that is quite common. Its called chain line, and yours seems to be off. What you want to watch out for is ghost shifting or if your chaing trys to derail while you are back peddaling in any gear. If any of this happens you'll probably want to mess with that spacing some more to optomize your chain line.
