I decided to go to the Xtracycle route for my next build and I have some questions. I read somewhere here and I can't for the life of me locate it via search but if I want to use disc brakes the rear Xtracycle mount requires a 203 sized disc, yes? What is the widest rear tire that will fit the Xtracycle adaptor? Can I still use a front suspension?
Thanks Guys!

Same basic idea as an X conversion.

A lot of peopel suggest you avoid the front suspension. If you`ve got the bike already maybe get a rigid fork that compensates for the suspension?

Okay, I finally built my Xtracycle bike but now I have more questions. First, it seems like the chain is a tad loose even though I installed it by using well known procedures. Is this the norm for very long chains? Tensioner solutions? I am currently running Maxxis Holy Rollers 2.5 and the chain rubs the tire in the big/small combo gearing. Will this always be the issue if you run large tires? Thanks again.
Indeed, the weight of a longer chain will be more than a standard derailleur cage spring can pull taut. This should not be a problem, as the chain will only sag on the lower run when you are riding (the upper portion of chain will be pulled taut by the force you are putting into the pedals). Interference with large tires is also a common problem. You can reduce the interference by installing the longest possible bottom bracket spindle (127mm is commonly available), but there may still be some rubbing in the lowest gear. On thing in your favor is the lack of side knobs on the Hookworm, but you may still find that you need to switch to a slightly smaller profile tire. Have fun!
