Introductions - Yo, how you doin'? I'm from Philly!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi everyone and greetings from the home of cheesesteaks and the Liberty Bell! I've been enjoying this website for a few weeks and it's good to join up. :)
I have a 40 yr. old Raleigh Grand Prix and a newly acquired Citizen Tokyo which helped rekindle my interest in cycling. As a city dweller, I walk to work but will likely press the Citizen into action for occasional commuting.
Lots of great threads here and plenty of knowledge to tap into. We'll see you around the boards.

Yo, how you doin'? Greetings from d'burbs, Montco specifically.
You might enjoy the Northeast regional forum (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=232). If you're in to longer rides, the thread about the Lancaster Metric Century might be interesting. The ride is coming up this Sunday, and it's a good chance to meet people from Bike Forums.
Now, more importantly, who makes the best pretzels?

Hi Niked,
I usually only send a reply to new subscribers from Massachusetts or my native state of Michigan, but a hearty "Yo" to you and welcome to the Forums. "Yo," as I understand it is a Phillly term, but I use it in my cycling as a generic, non-waving greeting, or a callout of warning. :D
We did a weekend getaway to Philly a couple of years ago and had a great time. I brought my bike and rode pretty far out Kelly (? Road, ? Drive).

Yo to you too. I'm from Newtown Pa and survive on Steve's Prince of Steaks. Been cycling for 6 weeks now and am totally hooked.
You do any bike event rides yet?: There's a Bucks County covered bridge ride in Oct that looks good. Tryin g to work my way up to being able to go 50 miles. At 25-30 now, so I still have a way to go.

Hi Jim, sorry about the delay in posting back. A big Rocky "YO" to you! Kelly Drive is a fun ride, isn't it? Lotsa traffic but a great place to people watch.

Howdy yankintx and a big holler to Newtown! Do you like your steaks with Whiz and will that be "wit" or "witout?" :D Twenty-five, thirty miles...hey you're no slouch! That covered bridge ride sounds like fun.

Thanks for the reply. I rode on an early Saturday morning and it was very peaceful. I also rode around Faimount Park. We stayed at the (?) Loew's Hotel and they were very accomodating about bringing the bike up to the room. I look forward to returning.
BTW, I think I shouted out at least three "Yo's" this morning to fellow cyclists.
Jim
Good to know that Lowe's is bike friendly. I'll pass it along to out of town friends. Keep 'dem Yo's rollin'.
