Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Mama's got the stuff!

Hey check this out, I just took my new bike out for an approx. 3 mile ride in the country with my 14 year old daughter and by the end I had to wait for her. IT FELT GREAT not being the one holding things up, I thought I was the one out of shape.:lol:

Good for you Mrs. H! It won't be long before you look back at that and laugh. Keep up the good work. It is also a great idea to include the kids.

It must not have been long for her to look back, the first thing she did after the ride was come down and tell me about it with a big smile on her face. On the other hand, our competitive daughter felt the need to go to her room and pout. :lol:

The daughter won't be getting a new bike, hers is fairly comparable to Mrs. Pumpers bike, plus with 4 new bike purchases in the last year, the budget is shot. Now, if Mrs. Pumper wants a slightly used road bike, she can have mine so that I can buy my new dream bike. :innocent: That's not going to fly, but I can still dream. :lol:

Somehow, when *I* needed a new bike, my bride got one instead. And now that she has balance issues, I mentioned a new bike for me... And instead, she gets a new adult trike... (and I'll probably lose again, as I think it will need lower gearing than the three speed will have.)

Welcome Lady Hillpumper!:D....Don't be surprised with your abilities. My friends and I used to compete with one another all the time. We did the course in 55 minutes tops. We improved after a year or so of riding. But the first time I took my wife on a ride (hybrid), she did the ride in 45 minutes!:eek:..She was neither a runner or cyclist. Who knows, maybe in a past life!:D

She upgraded to a steel roadie and rode lots of guys to the ground on 40 mile rides. Now she's on a carbon fiber roadie and riding some of our friends on high end bikes to the ground on 50-80 mile rides.:D

Heck, I have to stay on top of my game to keep ahead while she just goes along for the ride, no training, no diet. If she trained, she'd kill me. She is an Athena but she is strong!:thumb:

Just a note: Making it enjoyable for her, her bike is 3 times the price I paid for my bike. I figure every advantage I give her to keep up, makes it that much more fun for the both of us!:D

She rides for fun, but if I lift the pace, she can look serious! (no, the guy in red is not my wife!:roflmao2:)
