Hi,
Is it a legal requirement that bicycles in the uk should have "front" reflectors ?

as far as i know, they have to have reflectors to be legally sold, but not for use on the street.

And did you know that pedals have to have reflectors on them? Not certain if this is if you are only out in the Dark- but if a policeman wants to get you- they have a check list for everything a bike should have. Got stopped by the Police a couple of years ago when on the Tandem. I have reflective patches on the bottom of my tights and that was not good enough. What was though- was that my co-rider was a policeman that outranked them and he did not like their attitude.

50+ years ago I was riding back home to Bristol after a day caving in the Mendips. I was stopped by a cop, and he didnt like the acetylene lamp on the front of my helmet, but admitted that it met the requirements.
