Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone, I am new to the forums. I'm a college student in Olympia, WA, USA. I use my bicycle to go places, and I have managed to reduce my driving to once a week at most. I occasionally go on 30-50 mile rides, but I haven't raced or done any multi-day adventures yet. My vehicle of choice is an old Motobecane that I stripped down, repainted, and built up with free parts from various sources. I'm pretty into bike mechanics, and I just started volunteering at my school's community bike shop. Thus far I have avoided the lust for expensive bike stuff. I'm pleased to join this forum, and looking forward to many interesting conversations.

Nice headline, and welcome to the Forums. If you're trying to avoid bike lust, perhaps you might want to avoid the Road Forum. ;) I hope you enjoy your time here. Do you have any pictures of your Motobecane?

That will change if you start frequenting the Road Cycling (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=41) section!
Escape while you still can! :p
