I was taking it easy on my ride home this morning, because work really sucked. I kept slowing down for lights that I knew I'd need to punch pretty hard to make.

Then I met the number 180 bus. It's one of those double long busses with accordian pivot in the middle. It takes people from downtown to the Mall of America so they can either work their minimum wage job or feed their consumer need. I think that maybe the driver was late or something, or maybe it was just that stopping that much metal would be too dfficult, but he was gunning all the yellow lights!

The streets in downtown Minneapolis are all set up with bike and bus paths like this :

| Park | Car | Car |B| Bus |

Bike and bus go one way, cars go the other. So every light that he gunned, I had like 150 feet of bus to protect me from any cars that might want to move. They may not see me, but they better see the bus! Every other street, the bus was between me and the cars, too. He squeezed me a couple of times, but nothing major.

I like it when I can run red lights without trackstanding and waiting for cross traffic to go through!
