Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Peugeot PH501 Ventoux, 1987

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I know the value for the usual mid 80's Treks, Univegas, Nishikis etc w/ nice steel tubing but not sure about this one. 50cm frame. It has Shimano 105 RD and shifters added but stock otherwise. Tires are stock and in good shape.
The paint on the frame is about 9.5 out of 10. The fork and spokes are not cosmetically perfect, (a little rust on fork, more on spokes).
It rides and shifts really well so it has no problems. Saddle is in great shape as well as cranks, brake calipers, hoods and levers.
I would ride it if it was my size. Any opinions?

We share the same market and the three Peugeots of similar condition that I've sold have been in the $250 to $300 dollar range. They sold quickly in that $$ range on CL.

Replace the seat w/ a $5 whatever and sell the white seat on Ebay. You'll get the same price for the bike regardless of the seat.

I thought about that but didn't know if this white saddle had some decent value like a San Marco Profil, Turbo, etc. I guess white vintage leather saddles are desirable huh. :)

I hope it's worth a lot because I have the exact same bike, but not quite as nice as yours and a little larger in the frame size. Good luck with it. Please let us/me know what it sold for.
Thanks
