General Cycling Discussion - Attaching saddle bag with flat hooks?

Hi, has anyone tried using a flat metal hook type thing (image attached) to attach a saddle bag to saddle loops? The bag's straps would go through the open slots on the ends of the clips and the hook ends would hook through the saddle loops. The idea being that it's easy to remove and that the weight of the bag would keep the clips in place while riding. Thoughts? Thanks very much.

I say it'll pop out of the saddle loops, and you may lose the bag.

I agree it looks likely to be lost. if you want to be able to remove it easily buy a QR designed seatbag

I'd say try it.Put the hooks on in different directions,that should make it harder to lose it.

Thanks to all. I'll give it a try and see what happens (don't have clips or bag yet, though). I do like the alternating direction idea with the clips and will rig something so that if it does unclip it won't come completely off. There will be a saddle bag support thing as well.

If you can find the right size clips, let us know how it works out. Not just every seat bag will work with a Brooks. I think the idea has a lot of potential.
