So, who has one? Based on the price argument, I would think garage rafters everywhere would be full of them.

I happened to be on Walmart's website today and seen the new lower price on the Hyper Insight.

I read the reviews, not all, common themes...good frame, even though heavy, bad components and slow gearing. If you are in this for exercize could be a more inexpensive way to get "comfortable" exercize.

Last night (Friday 9/18) I was shopping with a friend at a local Wal-Mart Super Center here in Orlando, and we happen to walk by the bike section when all of a sudden I noticed there was a Hyper Insight on the rack. That was a surprise as I thought that bike was only available online. But I thought to myself that there was a slight chance that maybe it had been assembled specifically for a customer and was awaiting pick up. It was cable locked to the rack so nobody could move it.

It still had some of the foam paper wrapping and ticket. I must admit that the Insight looks a lot more impressive in person. Unlike the photographs, the bike's profile is a lot sleeker, and elongated. The dark blue paint is rich and has a deep gloss to it, fit and finish looked good too.

However it seems this is a first generation Hyper Insight as it had the Falcon branded rear derailleur. The new version (second generation) reportedly has some upgraded components.

Anyway without trying to sound corny, it was almost a surreal experience to actually see a recumbent at a Wally World's bike rack. That is something that we've all been speculating as to when it would finally happen for years on several recumbent forums.

The reviews were surprisingly favorable. Upgrade the cheap drivetrain and you have a sweet semi-recumbent bike for not too much money.
