There was a 52cm for sale at the Seattle Swap meet this year, believe it was 6 or 7 years older than yours. Asking price was in the $275 range if I remember correctly. It had a good pair of clement sewups & Nuevo Record Derailleurs. The prices were set low & generated a lot of sales. While we were checking it out, a teen age girl was trying to talk her dad into bankrolling her purchase. Hope she got her way!

I ride a '73 Grand Record. I couldn't begin to tell you what it's worth as I have no intention of selling it. All I know is when I bought it when I was 18, it took all my savings at the time. My parents were not happy about that. :o

If you want to get an idea what its worth on the open market
do a search on e-bay for Motobecane Grand record, then search
completed items. That will give you an idea what folks are paying
for them.

OK. I found 1 Grand Record on eBay with a current bid of $75.00. It says this is mid to late 70s which I wonder about because they list Shimano 600 equipment. I didn't think Motobecane changed from Campy equipment until later on (late 70s to early 80s). But I could be wrong.

thx for the help. i checked that bike, however mine is much different, much nicer looking.
it has the columbus tubing, racing paint job, chrome forks, i think my grand record is a
different category or vintage than that one. i will try to do more research to see if i can
find one like it.

thx alot, rocco

You've got to remember that bicycle components are frequently changed
upgraded swapped etc.
I would think that a grand record with original equiptment would be worth
more than one that has newer components.

I have a 78 Motobecane Grand Jubile & it has the early(ornate) Shimano 600 derailleurs & crankset. I have seen illustrations of the 78 Grand Record it had Campagnolo derailleurs and the owners manual for my Grand Jubile shows the Shimano 600, Campagnolo NR & Huret derailleurs in the adjustments section but does not specify which model they came on.
