i am building a cx bike. i need 150 mm of seatpost above the clamp. i'll be using a Thomson 27.2 mm zero offset. it looks like the remaining 100 mm below the clamp is sufficient according to Thomson making the 250 mm choice the lighter weight option. is there any benefit to using the 330 mm seatpost and having 80 mm more?
is the Thomson a good choice?
i posted here instead of the mechanical threads because i thought the familiarity with repeated mounting in cx applications was significant to questions about seatposts
thanks

heh, answering my own post; called Thomson; engineer said the extra 80 mm would serve no useful purpose; going with 250 mm
Like you said, the 80mm is inconsequential for a road/cross bike. Yes, Thomson is THE choice. Did you get the Masterpiece or Elite? I have an Elite on my Mtn bike and ordered a Elite for cross bike, the Masterpiece was tempting but costly for just a few grams. Post pics of your bike when you get it complete.

have masterpiece black on road bike and elite 330 silver on fixed gear; i ordered a black elite 250 mm x 27.2 mm for CX
tried to post pics in the show-us-your-cx-bike thread but i'm too stupid for words; i tried a couple a ways to upload the images but failed both times; i am now searching the bf-for-idiots thread; wish me luck
